Design a LGM (Little Green Man) - or a LGW
- Objective:
- To show knowledge of different elements of planetary ecology
- Activity:
- To draw and explain imaginary creatures that have adapted to the unique ecology of an imaginary planet
- Materials:
- For each student:
- unlined paper, markers or other drawing medium
- For lesson:
- slips of paper with ecological facts
- Ecological Fact Sheet that shows effects of planet factor
(included in this packet)
- Previous Knowlege Necessary:
- The students should be aware of the basic properties of certain ecological factors including gravity, heat, wind, atmosphere and water. (can use Ecological Fact Sheet)
- Procedure:
- Each student is given a slip of paper that lists a few ecological facts about an imaginary planet. Example: This planet has a thin atmosphere and strong gravity.
- The student will draw an imaginary creature that has adapted to the specific ecological needs of the planet. Using the above example, the student might draw something like this:
- The students can explain why they drew their creature a certain way or they can show their creatures and have the others guess about the ecology of the planet.
