Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Thursday, April 25th.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 24th, 19 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 12
WILLETS and 16 MARBLED GODWITS were seen at Harlan Reservoir and on the 23rd,
a CATTLE EGRET, an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER and 4 HUDSONIAN GODWITS were seen
there. On the 23rd, an EASTERN KINGBIRD was found at the south sewage
pond in Alma.

In Phelps County on the 21st, a WHITE-FACED IBIS, 3 PIPING PLOVERS, 84
MARBLED GODWITS, a DUNLIN and 660 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS were seen at Funk
Lagoon.

In Rock County on the 25th, 2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS returned to feeders
in Bassett.

In eastern Nebraska in Burt County on the 23rd, 9 HUDSONIAN GODWITS and a
STILT SANDPIPER were seen at Summit Lake south of Tekamah. In Washington
County on the 22nd, a GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER was seen in Neale Woods on
the Krimlofski Track.

In Douglas County on the 24th, 3 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were still
coming to feeders south of Methodist Hospital in Omaha. In Sarpy County
on the 24th in Bellevue, an OVENBIRD was seen in a yard west of
Fontenelle Forest. On the 23rd, a BALTIMORE ORIOLE visited a feeder on
south Bellevue Blvd.

In Lancaster County on the 25th south of Denton, an AMERICAN BITTERN and a
GRASSHOPPER SPARROW were seen at Spring Creek Prairie and on the 24th, a
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT was seen there.

On the 25th in York County, 56 SAVANNAH SPARROWS, 2 WHITE-CROWNED
SPARROWS and4 HARRIS'S SPARROWS were found along roadsides, and a GREAT EGRET
was seen in Kirkpatrick WMA.

On the 24th in Dodge County, 15 AMERICAN AVOCETS were seen in a farm pond
northwest of Ames.

In Antelope County on the 22nd, a WILLET, 11 AMERICAN AVOCETS and 8
FORSTER'S TERNS were found at Grove Lake WMA.

In Knox County on the 22nd, 2 MARBLED GODWITS were seen at Niobrara on
the pond south of Rt. 12.

In western Nebraska in Kimball County on the 17th, 28 WESTERN GREBES and a
PEREGRINE FALCON were found at Oliver Reservoir. Other birds seen in
Kimball County on the 17th were a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK and a SAY'S PHOEBE.

In Garden County on the 17th, 2 BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS and a TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRE were seen at Ash Hollow State Park. In Keith County on the
17th, 2 COMMON LOONS, 7 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, 4 PIPING PLOVERS, 100
BONAPARTE'S GULLS and 5 CALIFORNIA GULLS were seen at Lake McConaughy.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 24th, 3 WESTERN GREBES were found
at Lake Manawa.
