Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Sunday, June 2nd.

In eastern Nebraska in Dixon County on the 2nd, a female PAINTED BUNTING
was seen at a birdbath northwest of Wakefield.

In Burt County on the 2nd at Summit Lake the following species were seen:
2 HOODED MERGANSERS, and 8 species of shorebirds including 2 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS, 300 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS and 80 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS.

In Sarpy County on the 29th in Bellevue, an ACADIAN FLYCATCHER was heard
singing on Hackberry Trail in Fontenelle Forest.

In Seward County on the 29th at Meadowlark Lake, 2 WILLOW FLYCATCHERS and a
HENSLOW'S SPARROW were found. In Lancaster County on the 29th, 2 COMMON
LOONS were seen at Pawnee Lake.

In Pawnee County on the 30th, 3 SEDGE WRENS and a HENSLOW'S SPARROW were
seen at Burchard Lake WMA on the south side of the entrance road.

In Adams County on the 27th, a LARK BUNTING was seen at Ayr Lake east of Hastings.

In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 2nd the following species
were found at Funk Lagoon: 5 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, a CINNAMON TEAL,
a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, an AMERICAN AVOCET, 330 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS and
17 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS.

In Harlan County on the 28th, 42 REDHEADS, 200 BLACK TERNS, 3 BELL'S
VIREOS and 2 YELLOW- BREASTED CHATS were found at Harlan Reservoir.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluffs County on the 29th, a BURROWING OWL
was found at the Scottsbluff landfill. On the 31st at Buffalo Creek WMA,
a FERRUGINOUS HAWK, a WHITE-THROATED SWIFT, a ROCK WREN, a CASSIN'S
SPARROW and a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE were seen. In Sioux County over the
week-end of the 26th , a ROCK WREN and a SAGE THRASHER were found at
Toadstool State Park.

In Cherry County over the week-end of the 26th, 4 BURROWING OWLS and
YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS were seen at Fort Niobrara National Wildlife Area.
In Thomas County on the week-end of the 26th, a possible HERMIT WARBLER
was reported from Halsey National Forest.
