The purpose of the Nebraska Ornithologists' Union
Records Committee is to provide a procedure for
documenting unusual bird sightings and to establish
a list of all documented birds for Nebraska. The
following list is of species for which the Records
Committee requests photographs and/or written

was last published in 1996 (see current updated list). This list included 427 species whose occurrence in
Nebraska has been documented to the satisfaction of the NOU Records Committee.

REPORTING YOUR SIGHTINGS: Unusual sightings should always be documented
by notes taken at the time of observation and with photographs if possible.
Species which should be documented for the N.O.U. Records Committee include
those marked with an * on this card AND Casual or accidental species not listed.
Written documentation and photos, if available, should be forwarded to:
