MY BIKEE STORY
I gave up bicycle riding several years ago. I couldn't take the numbness in
my hands and the pain in my neck and back any longer. For quite some time I have been
looking for a recumbent bicycle that met my engineering standards.
While browsing through the (hardcopy)
Birkenstock Express catalog I came
across a photo of Ginny sitting on a Bikis Evolaris aka Bike E. Finally!, I had found it! The good
people at Footwise put me in touch with the BikeE corporation of Corvallis.
They in turn helped me contact a dealer, Health Cycle, in Omaha, Nebraska.
Jim Langley (July 1997/Bicycling, pages 78-82) points out that the Union Cycliste
International banned recumbants in the 1930s from competitions because they out
performed upright bicycles. All I know for sure is that my BikeE is
very fast.
