Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, December 3rd.

In western Nebraska on the 2nd in Keith County, 2 BLACK SCOTERS and 2 SURF
SCOTERS were seen at Lake Ogallala. In Garden County on the 2nd, a
VIRGINIA RAIL and 13 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were found at the Clear Creek
Marshes. Also on the 2nd in Morrill County, 3 VIRGINIA RAILS were found
at Facus Springs.

In Scotts Bluff County on November 28th, 15 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES
were seen on the Henry Road.

In eastern Nebraska in Douglas County on the 1st in Neale Woods, a WINTER
WREN, a CAROLINA WREN and 2 HERMIT THRUSHES were seen on the Missouri River
Ecology Trail. Also at Neale Woods, a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK, a
RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, a BROWN THRASHER, PURPLE FINCHES and PINE SISKINS
are being seen at the Nature Center feeders.

In Cass County on the 29th, 7 PINE SISKINS were coming to a feeder in Elmwood.

In Central Nebraska on the 1st in Hall County, 3 NORTHERN HARRIERS, 2
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, 27 SANDHILL CRANES, 3 BROWN CREEPERS, 7
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS, a NORTHERN SHRIKE, a SPOTTED TOWHEE, 18
WHITE-CROWNED SPARROWS, 3 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS, a SWAMP SPARROW, 22
RUSTY BLACKBIRDS and 6 PINE SISKINS were seen at Crane Meadows Nature
Center. On November 29th, an EARED GREBE was spotted on the lake at the
I-80 Alda Exit. On the 27th, an adult female SNOW BUNTING was seen at
Crane Meadows Nature Center.
