Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, November 17th.

In eastern Nebraska in Douglas County on the 16th, a first winter
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was found again at Standing Bear Lake northwest of
Omaha. Also on the 16th, a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER and 13 HOODED MERGANSERS
were seen at Cunningham Lake north of Omaha. On the 14th, west of Eppley
Airport, 2 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS and 4 BALD EAGLES were found at Carter
Lake. On the 16th and 17th, a NORTHERN BOBWHITE visited a feeder near
Elmwood Park in Omaha.

In Sarpy County on the 16th, 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 2 RED-BREASTED
MERGANSERS, a KILLDEER and an adult HERRING GULL were found at Wehrspann
Lake northwest of Papillion.

In Washington County on the 14th, 13 SANDHILL CRANES were seen flying over Blair.

In Lancaster County on the 16th at Branched Oak Lake, 2 COMMON LOONS, a
WESTERN GREBE, 28 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, a KILLDEER and 4 HERRING GULLS were seen.

In Cass County on the 16th, 5 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen in
Elmwood. On the 15th, 3,000 HORNED LARKS were seen in fields southwest of Elmwood.

In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 14th at Lake Ogallala, a
PACIFIC LOON, a RED-NECKED GREBE, 25 TRUMPETER SWANS, a SURF SCOTER, a
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, 2 BLACK SCOTERS, 3 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, a male
BARROW'S GOLDENEYE, a NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL and a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER
were seen. On the 14th at Lake McConaughy, a SANDERLING was found.

On the 14th in Sioux County, 105 GRAY-CROWNED ROSY-FINCHES were seen at
Wind Springs Ranch. In Scotts Bluff County on the 17th, 2 EVENING
GROSBEAKS visited a feeder south of Gering. On the 14th, a PACIFIC LOON,
a first-basic LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL and a first-basic GLAUCOUS GULL were
found at Lake Minatare.
