Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Monday, December 11th.

In central Nebraska in Lincoln County on the 5th, 3 RED CROSSBILLS came
to the feeder at KNOP TV Station in North Platte.

In northeastern Kearney County on the 9th, 3 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS and a
PRAIRIE FALCON were found.

In Adams County on the 9th, about 3000 SNOW GEESE were seen at a sewage
lagoon at Kenesaw and 2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were spotted near the Kenesaw WPA.

In eastern Nebraska in Knox County on the 9th at Niobrara State Park 3
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were found. On the 9th at
Niobrara Marsh, a GREAT-TAILED GRACKLE was seen. On the 10th in western
Knox County, 108 GREATER PRAIRIE CHICKENS were seen in one flock 3 miles
south of Walnut and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen ½ mile south of
Dukesville. Also seen on the 10th, were 3 SHARP-TAILED GROUSE 4 miles
south of Verdigre.

In Cedar County on the 9th at Gavin's Point Dam 50 BALD EAGLES, 16
RING-BILLED GULLS, 3 HERRING GULLS and a FRANKLIN'S GULL were found.

In Sarpy County on the 10th in Bellevue, a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH, a
CAROLINA WREN and 2 RED CROSSBILLS visited a feeder southwest of Fontenelle Forest.

In Seward County on the 8th, a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH and a TUFTED TITMOUSE
were seen at a feeder in Seward. On the 9th, a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER,
40 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS and 2 BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS were found along Plum Creek in Seward.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 9th, 2 SNOW GEESE, a NORTHERN
PINTAIL and 3 HOODED MERGANSERS were found at the MidAmerican south pond.
