Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, November 21st.
In eastern Nebraska in Douglas County on the 18th, a first winter
BLACK-LEGGED KITTIWAKE was found again at Standing Bear Lake northwest
of
Omaha. On the 20th, a FRANKLIN'S GULL and 200 RING- BILLED GULLS
were seen
at Cunningham Lake north of Omaha. Also on the 20th, a WESTERN
GREBE was
found at Zorinsky Lake. On the 17th and 18th, west of Eppley
Airport, 40
BALD EAGLES were found at Carter Lake.
In Sarpy County on the 20th, 2 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, a CANVASBACK, a
REDHEAD, 2 RED- BREASTED MERGANSERS and 7 HOODED MERGANSERS were found
at
Wehrspann Lake northwest of Papillion. On the 21st south of Bellevue,

DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, 5 BALD EAGLES, 215 RING-BILLED GULLS and
2
HERRING GULLS were seen at Offutt Lake.
In Washington County on the 17th at Neale Woods, a WINTER WREN was seen
on the Missouri River Ecology Trail.
In Knox County on the 18th, an immature NORTHERN GOSHAWK was seen

miles west and 2 miles north of Center. On the 17th, 2 RED CROSSBILLS
were
seen at a feeder in Creighton.
In Saunders County on the 16th, 60 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were spotted
west of Ceresco.
In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 21st, a GLAUCOUS GULL was
seen at Harlan Reservoir north of the dam at Gremlin Cove Park.
In western Nebraska in Garden County on the 19th, a NORTHERN SAW-WHET
OWL
was found at Ash Hollow State Park. On the 19th, in Keith County
at Lake
Ogallala, 2 RED-NECKED GREBES, a TRUMPETER SWAN, a LONG-TAILED
DUCK, a
WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, a male BARROW'S GOLDENEYE and a PURPLE FINCH were
seen. On the 19th at Lake McConaughy, 7 TRUMPETER SWANS were
seen.
On the 19th in Lincoln County, an adult THAYER'S GULL, an adult
LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULL, a 1st basic GLAUCOUS GULL and a SNOW BUNTING were
found
at Sutherland Reservoir.
In Iowa west of Missouri Valley on the 18th, a NORTHERN ROUGH-LEGGED
HAWK, 12 BALD EAGLES and 2 GOLDEN EAGLES were spotted in a field east
of
DeSoto Refuge, and an AMERICAN WOODCOCK was seen at the north end of
Wilson
Island State Park.
