Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, November 28th.
In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 26th, the following birds
were
seen at Lake Ogallala: a RED-NECKED GREBE, an EARED GREBE, a CLARK'S
GREBE, 28 TRUMPETER SWANS, a TUFTED DUCK, 3 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, 3
LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 2 BARROW'S GOLDENEYES, a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER and
a
PURPLE FINCH. Also on the 26th, a PACIFIC LOON, 5 RED-NECKED
GREBES, 5
CLARK'S GREBES, a BLACK SCOTER, a BAIRD'S SANDPIPER and a THAYER'S
GULL
were found at Lake McConaughy.
In central Nebraska on the 24th in Thomas County at Halsey National
Forest, an immature GOLDEN EAGLE and NORTHERN SHRIKES were seen, and
on the
25th, COMMON REDPOLLS were found.
In eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County on the 26th at Branched Oak
Lake,
a HOODED MERGANSER, 4 HERRING GULLS and 14 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were found.
On
the 26th at Pawnee Lake 2 KILLDEER, 17 HERRING GULLS and 165 RING-BILLED
GULLS were seen. At Arbor Lake on the 26th, a KILLDEER and a
LOGGERHEAD
SHRIKE were found.
In Cedar County on the 25th, an adult male WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, a HOODED
MERGANSER and a PRAIRIE FALCON were seen at Gavin's Point Dam.
A RED
CROSSBILL was found at St. James on the 25th.
In Douglas County on the 26th, an AMERICAN WIGEON, 4 GADWALLS and 3
AMERICAN COOTS were seen at Boys Town Lake in west Omaha.
In South Dakota, a CRESTED CARACARA is being seen at La Creek NWR near
