Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, April 7th.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on March 29th, 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 7
BONAPARTE'S GULLS, a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE and 2 LINCOLN SPARROWS were found in
Alma. Also seen in Alma on the 26th was a SAY'S PHOEBE.

In Buffalo County on the 28th, an OSPREY was seen at Lake Kearney. In
Kearney County on the 1st 2 miles east of Funk Lagoon, 2 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, a LESSER YELLOWLEGS and 3 DOWITCHER sp. Were found.

In Phelps County on April 1st at Funk Lagoon 2 HORNED GREBES, 1,000
AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS, 150 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, a BONAPARTE'S
GULL, a FOX SPARROW, 4 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS, BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS and 7
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were found.

In western Nebraska on March 25th, an EARED GREBE, a TUFTED DUCK, 60
GREATER SCAUP, 8 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, 3 BARROW'S GOLDENEYES and 3 THAYER'S
GULLS were seen at Lake Ogallala. Also on the 25th, 59 ROSS'S GEESE and 5
BONAPARTE'S GULLS were seen at Lake McConaughy.

In Scotts Bluff County on April 1st, a CINNAMON TEAL, GREATER SCAUP and a
SANDHILL CRANE were seen at the North Platte NWR. On the 1st in
Scottsbluff, a BROWN CREEPER and a COMMON REDPOLL were found. On March
26th, 6 CINNAMON TEAL were found at Kiowa WMA.

In Kimball County on the 26th, a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER was seen at Oliver
Reservoir. Also on the 26th, a MOUNTAIN PLOVER, a SAY'S PHOEBE, and 28
MCCOWN'S LONGSPURS were found in southwest Kimball County. In Banner
County on the 26th, 2 NORTHERN SHRIKES and a CHESTNUT-COLLARED LONGSPUR
were seen.

In eastern Nebraska in Dodge County on the 6th, a SWAINSON'S HAWK and a
VESPER SPARROW were seen northwest of Ames.

In the eastern Rainwater Basin on the 2nd the following birds were seen:
GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, a LEAST SANDPIPER, 85 BAIRD'S
SANDPIPERS, a PECTORAL SANDPIPER, 19 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 2 AMERICAN
PIPITS and SAVANNAH SPARROWS.

In Sarpy County on the 31st, 15 RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS, YELLOW-RUMPED
WARBLERS, 2 LINCOLN SPARROWS and 11 WHITE-THROATED SPARROWS were found in
Fontenelle Forest.

In Lancaster County on the 3rd, CHIPPING SPARROWS were seen at Spring
Creek Prairie south of Denton and on the 4th, FIELD SPARROWS were seen there.
