Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, April 11th.

In eastern Nebraska in Clay County a EURASIAN WIGEON was seen at Harvard
WPA on the 5th.

In the eastern Rainwater Basin on the 9th the following birds were seen:
5 EARED GREBES, 6 SANDHILL CRANES, 13 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 34 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, 19 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 155 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS, 4 PECTORAL
SANDPIPERS, 11 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 2 SWAINSON'S HAWKS and a sub-adult
GOLDEN EAGLE.

In Lancaster County on the 8th, the following birds were seen near
Lincoln: a GREAT EGRET, a BONAPARTE'S GULL, PURPLE MARTIN and 10 VESPER
SPARROWS. In Seward County on the 8th a very early BELL'S VIREO was
reported singing at Twin Lakes. In Saline County on the 8th, 3 BLACK-
CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS and a RUSTY BLACKBIRD were seen at Walnut Creek SRA.

In Douglas County on the 7th at Cunningham Lake, a COMMON LOON, 25 GREAT
EGRETS, 29 BONAPARTE'S GULLS, 33 FRANKLIN'S GULLS and a HERRING GULL were
found. On the 8th, an EASTERN TOWHEE was seen 4.5 miles south of Elkhorn.

In Cass County on the 9th, 3 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES, a CAROLINA WREN,
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLETS and a FOX SPARROW were seen in Elmwood.

In Sarpy County on the 10th in Bellevue, a HERMIT THRUSH was seen in a
yard south of Bellevue University. On the 9th a YELLOW-BELLIED
SAPSUCKER, 2 EASTERN PHOEBES, RUBY-CROWNED KINGLETS and a SWAMP SPARROW
were seen in Fontenelle Forest. On the 7th, ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS were
seen in Fontenelle Forest. On the 8th at Wehrspann Lake, 2 HORNED GREBES
and 7 SWAMP SPARROWS were seen and on the 9th, a HOODED MERGANSER was found
there. On the 7th, a HERMIT THRUSH visited a yard in Papillion.

In central Nebraska in Buffalo County on the 6th, 3 RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCHES and 8 PINE SISKINS were seen the UNK campus in Kearney. On the
7th, 6 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS were found at Kearney Lake.

In Phelps County on the 9th at Johnson WPA, an EARED GREBE, 3
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, 4 GREATER SCAUPS and 4 YELLOW-HEADED
BLACKBIRDS were seen.

In Kearney County on the 9th at Lindau WPA, a SAVANNAH SPARROW and a VESPER
SPARROW were seen. Also on the 9th, LOGGERHEAD SHRIKES were seen at
Sacramento WMA and also 2 miles northeast of Wilcox.

In western Nebraska on the 8th in Kimball County, a SWAINSON'S HAWK, 4
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, a MERLIN, 25 SHARP-TAILED GROUSE, a MOUNTAIN PLOVER,
and a SHORT-EARED OWL were seen. Also on the 8th, 2 GREATER SCAUP were
found at Oliver Reservoir. In western Banner County on the 8th, 14
LONG-BILLED CURLEWS were found.

In Scotts Bluff County on April 8th, 6 CINNAMON TEAL and a CALIFORNIA GULL
were found at Kiowa WMA. Also on the 8th, 12 WESTERN GREBES were seen at
Lake Minatare, 3 CINNAMON TEAL were seen at Winters Creek Lake and a
LONG-BILLED CURLEW was seen at Lake Alice. In western Scotts Bluff
County on the 8th, 2 BURROWING OWLS were spotted.
