Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, April 21st.

In eastern Nebraska in Sarpy County in Bellevue on the 21st, a GREAT
EGRET, a HERMIT THRUSH, a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER and a LOUISIANA
WATERTHRUSH were found in Fontenelle Forest. On the 19th, an OSPREY, a
NORTHERN PARULA and a LINCOLN'S SPARROW were seen in Fontenelle Forest, and
on the 15th, 2 RED-SHOULDERED HAWKS were seen there. On the 18th at
Chalco Hills Recreation Area, 2 EARED GREBES, a GREAT EGRET, 2 HUDSONIAN
GODWITS, a FORSTER'S TERN and 9 species of ducks were seen.

In Douglas County on the 21st, an OSPREY was seen at Carter Lake. On the
17th at Cunningham Lake, 11 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, a GREAT EGRET, a
SPOTTED SANDPIPER and a YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRD were seen north of Highway
36. On the 15th, a CATTLE EGRET was spotted south of Venice.

In Lancaster County on the 19th at Branched Oak Lake the following birds
were seen: a COMMON LOON, 10 EARED GREBES, 2 HORNED GREBES, 22
SWAINSON'S HAWKS, a PEREGRINE FALCON, 84 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS, 7
MARBLED GODWITS, a HUDSONIAN GODWIT, 3 PIPING PLOVERS, 7 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS, BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS, 15 BONAPARTE'S GULLS and 3 FORSTER'S TERNS.
Also on the 19th, 14 CATTLE EGRETS were seen a few miles east of Lincoln.
On the 15th, 5 GREAT EGRETS, 28 HUDSONIAN GODWITS and 2 MARBLED GODWITS
were found at Pawnee Lake.

In Saunders County on the 15th, 26 HUDSONIAN GODWITS were seen flying 5
miles southwest of Memphis.

In Cuming County on the 15th, a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was seen at the
corner of 5th and Canfield in Beemer.

In Fillmore County on the 15th, 12 ROSS'S GEESE and a MERLIN were found at
Mallard Haven. In Hamilton County on the 15th, a PEREGRINE FALCON was
spotted. In Clay County on the 15th, 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were
found at Harvard WPA.

In central Nebraska in Buffalo County on the 19th, a RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCH and 4 PINE SISKINS were seen on the University of Nebraska campus
in Kearney. On the 16th, 5 VESPER SPARROWS and 5 SAVANNAH SPARROWS were
seen 3.5 miles southeast of Gibbon.

In Phelps County on the 16th at Funk Lagoon the following species were
seen: 2 HORNED GREBES, 60 EARED GREBES, 150 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS, 6
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, 3,000 SNOW GEESE, 12 species of ducks, 7
AMERICAN AVOCETS, a MARBLED GODWIT, 2 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 2 BAIRD'S
SANDPIPERS and 9 COMMON SNIPE.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 20th, a COMMON LOON, an EARED
GREBE, a HORNED GREBE, 10 GREAT EGRETS, 250 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, 5
BONAPARTE'S GULLS and 2 FORSTER'S TERNS were seen at Lake Manawa.
