Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Thursday, April 27th.

In eastern Nebraska in Sarpy County in Bellevue on the 23rd, a PILEATED
WOODPECKER was seen flying over the Wetlands Center in Fontenelle Forest.
Also on the 23rd, 3 YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS and 3 NORTHERN PARULAS were
found in Fontenelle Forest. On the 26th in Fontenelle Forest, a GREEN
HERON, a GREAT EGRET, a BROAD-WINGED HAWK, a GRAY CATBIRD and a HERMIT
THRUSH were seen. Also on the 26th, 2 OSPREYS, a SHARP-SHINNED HAWK and 15
BROAD-WINGED HAWKS were seen flying over Camp Wakonda. On the 26th, a
BLUE-HEADED VIREO was seen in the Birdline backyard in Bellevue. Also on
the 26th, a BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen in Bellevue in the Avian Forest
housing area. On the 27th, a RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was in the
Riverview Heights area of Bellevue.

In Douglas County in Omaha on the 23rd and 25th, a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was
seen at Towle Park. On the 25th, a WESTERN KINGBIRD was spotted on the
east side of Eppley Airport. On the 26th, a SORA was found at Cunningham
Lake north of Omaha. On the 22nd in south Omaha at Spring Lake Park, a
BARRED OWL, a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER were seen.

In Washington County on the 26th, a WARBLING VIREO and an ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLER were seen at Boyer Chute NWR. Also on the 26th, a SORA, a LARK
SPARROW and 3 SWAMP SPARROWS were seen at Nathan's Lake.

In Dodge County on the 27th, an AMERICAN AVOCET, 27 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, a
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER and 10 WILSON'S PHALAROPES were seen in a farm pond
7 miles northwest of Ames.

In Johnson County on the 24th and 25th, a LOGGERHEAD SHRIKE was seen along
Highway 50 near Tecumseh.

In Nemaha County on the 23rd, 2 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES and 12 PINE SISKINS
were seen at Peru State College.

In central Nebraska in Buffalo County on the 26th, SPOTTED TOWHEES,
CLAY-COLORED SPARROWS and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER were seen southeast of
Gibbon. Also on the 26th, 400 FRANKLIN'S GULLS were seen 2 miles
southwest of Gibbon. On the 23rd, 6 CHIMNEY SWIFTS were seen in Kearney.
On the 27th, 6 FORSTER'S TERNS were spotted at the Fort Kearney Inn
south of Kearney.

In Harlan County on the 27th, 2 OSPREYS and 15 FRANKLIN'S GULLS were seen
at Harlan Reservoir.
