Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Saturday, July 15th.

In western Nebraska in Chase County on the 8th, a WHITE-WINGED DOVE was
seen about 3 miles south of the Lamar exit from Highway 6.

In Morrill County on the 8th, GREATER YELLOWLEGS, LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 20
WILLETS and 20 MARBLED GODWITS were seen in a flooded field south of
Bayard. In Scotts Bluff County on the 8th, a WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, a
VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOW, a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT and a LAZULI BUNTING were
found at Wright's Gap south of Melbeta.

In eastern Nebraska in Cass County on the 11th, 3 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES
were still being seen in Elmwood. Also seen on the 11th, flocks of 100 and
145 MOURNING DOVES on roads west of Elmwood.

In Sarpy County in Bellevue on the 14th, 3 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, a LEAST
SANDPIPER, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER and a family of WESTERN KINGBIRDS were seen
from the bike trail at Haworth Park. On the 11th, a BLUE GROSBEAK was
found on the bike trail south of Offutt Air Force Base along the Papio
Creek just south of the MUD plant.

In Washington County on the 7th, a HENSLOW'S SPARROW was still on
territory at Boyer Chute NWR. Also on the 7th, a GREATER YELLOWLEGS and a
WILLET were seen at Nathan's Lake.

In Saline County on the 8th, 2 GREAT EGRETS were found at Olive Creek SRA.

The following species were seen on the 9th in the eastern Rainwater
Basin: 3 HOODED MERGANSERS, a SORA, an AMERICAN AVOCET, 35 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, 476 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 5 SOLITARY SANDPIPERS, a WILLET, 20
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 14 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 3 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS and
5 WILSON'S PHALAROPES.

In Dodge County on the 12th, 8 UPLAND SANDPIPERS were seen in farm fields
northwest of Ames.
