Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, June 9th.

In western Nebraska in Sheridan County on the 4th the following species
were found along Highway 2 east of Alliance: WHITE-FACED IBIS, AMERICAN
BITTERN, GREAT EGRET, BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, AMERICAN AVOCET,
BLACK-NECKED STILT, UPLAND SANDPIPER, LONG-BILLED CURLEW, MARSH WREN,
LARK BUNTING and BOBOLINK.

In central Nebraska on the 2nd in Harlan County, 18 AMERICAN WHITE
PELICANS, a FORSTER'S TERN and 5 BLACK TERNS were seen at Harlan Reservoir.
Also on the 2nd, a SAY'S PHOEBE was spotted 14 miles north of Alma, and 12
miles north of Alma a COOPER'S HAWK was seen.

In eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County on the 3rd at Jack Sinn Wildlife
Area 3 BOBOLINKS were seen near the parking area. On the 7th south of
Denton, 3 UPLAND SANDPIPERS, an EASTERN PHOEBE, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD and
a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW were found at Spring Creek Prairie.

In the eastern Rainwater Basin on the 4th, 4 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 65
WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS, a PECTORAL SANDPIPER and 2 STILT SANDPIPERS were found.

In Washington County on the 8th at Neale Woods, an AMERICAN WOODCOCK, a
WILLOW FLYCATCHER, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, a
YELLOW- THROATED WARBLER and a NORTHERN PARULA were found on Ecology and
River Trails.

In Sarpy County on the 4th at Schramm State Park an ACADIAN FLYCATCHER, 6
BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS, a CERULEAN WARBLER, 2 KENTUCKY WARBLERS and a
SCARLET TANAGER were found. On the 3rd in Fontenelle Forest a
YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON, 2 RED- SHOULDERED HAWKS and a PROTHONOTARY
WARBLER were seen.

In Dixon County on the 5th, 12 BOBOLINKS andand GRASSHOPPER SPARROWS were
found on 580 Avenue one half mile north of 869 Rd.
