Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, March 21st.

In central Nebraska in Hall County, the COMMON CRANE was seen at about 2 PM
on the 21st in a field on Platte River Drive about four blocks west of
Highway 11. To find the Platte River Drive take the Wood River I-80 Exit
300 and cross the Platte River. Platte River Drive is the second road
south of the river. The COMMON CRANE has also been seen many times on
Denman Road about 7/10 mile west of the intersection of Denman Road and
Highway 11. Denman Road is the first road south of the river. If you
see the COMMON CRANE, please notify the Nebraska Birdline at (402) 292-5325
or by e-mail at lpdlfrd@juno.com. Also on the 21st, a WHOOPING CRANE was
spotted about 4 miles west of Doniphan on Platte River Drive.

In western Nebraska in Keith County, the TUFTED DUCK was still present on
Keystone Lake on the 20th and was visible from the diversion dam on the
