Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, May 19th.

In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 18th, an adult WHITE IBIS was
found at Lake Ogallala. On the 15th, a BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER and a
SUMMER TANAGER were seen at the Cedar Point Biological Station, and 6
WHIMBRELS and 120 SANDERLINGS were seen at Lake McConaughy. On the 14th, 3
adult MISSISSIPPI KITES were found in Ogallala at the intersection of 4th
and G Streets.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 18th, a BAND-TAILED PIGEON continued to be
seen in west Gering. For information contact Alice Kenitz at
akenitz@prairieweb.com. On the 14th, a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER was seen
in Carter Canyon, and on the 15th, 3 VIOLET-GREEN SWALLOWS were found there.

In Hitchcock County on the 15th, a NORTHERN PARULA was found at Swanson
Reservoir at the Macklin's Bay campground. Also seen at Swanson
Reservoir on the 15th, were a WESTERN GREBE, an AMERICAN AVOCET and a SAY'S
PHOEBE. In Dundy County on the 15th, a VIRGINIA RAIL, a YELLOW- BREASTED
CHAT and a BLUE GROSBEAK were found at Rock Creek SRA.

In eastern Nebraska in Dodge County on the 17th at Hormel Park in Fremont
a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER and a PROTHONOTARY
WARBLER were found. On the 18th, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD, a TENNESSEE
WARBLER, AMERICAN REDSTARTS, a WILSON'S WARBLER and a BLACK-POLL WARBLER
were seen on a farm 7 miles northwest of Ames.

In Lancaster County on the 14th, 2 HENSLOW'S SPARROWS were seen at Spring
Creek Prairie south of Denton. Also on the 14th, a LAZULI BUNTING was
spotted at Wilderness Park in Lincoln.

In Sarpy County on the 13th at Chalco Hills Recreation Area, 3 EARED
GREBES, 3 BLACK TERNS and 11 species of shorebirds were found including 4
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 4 STILT SANDPIPERS and 7 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS.
On the 13th at Schramm State Park, a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, a KENTUCKY
WARBLER, a NORTHERN PARULA and a SCARLET TANAGER were seen.

In the eastern Rainwater Basin in Clay County on the 14th, a
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, a SCARLET TANAGER and a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK
were found at Lange WPA. At Harvard WPA on the 14th, 300 BLACK-BELLIED
PLOVERS, 9 WHIMBRELS, 2 MARBLED GODWITS, 11 RUDDY TURNSTONES, 1100
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 620 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS, 1200 STILT SANDPIPERS,
1700 WILSON'S PHALAROPES and a CASPIAN TERN were found. On the 15th, a
COMMON TERN was found at Harvard WPA. On the 13th, a SNOWY PLOVER was
present at Massie WPA. In Fillmore County on the 13th, 37 BUFF-BREASTED
SANDPIPERS were found at Krause WPA.
In northern Thayer County at Hupp WPA on the 13th, a BLACK-NECKED STILT and
14 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES were found. The BLACK-NECKED STILT was still
present on the 15th.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 14th, 10 WILLETS, 2 RUDDY
TURNSTONES and 34 FORSTER'S TERNS were seen on the west end of Harlan
Reservoir. On the 13th at Harlan Reservoir, 2 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and
20 SANDERLINGS were found at Gremlin Cove Park. Also on the 13th, a
FERRUGINOUS HAWK was seen north of Alma.
