Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, April 27th. Beginning this Sunday, Apr.
29th, Audubon will sponsor Bird Walks in Fontenelle Forest each Sunday
morning throughout May. Meet at 7:30 AM at the Gifford Rd. parking lot
across from the Wetlands Center.

In eastern Nebraska in Washington County on the 27th in Neale Woods, a
GREEN HERON, an OSPREY, BROAD-WINGED HAWKS, LEAST FLYCATCHER, BLUE-HEADED
VIREO, WOOD THRUSH, BLACK and WHITE WARBLERS, OVENBIRD, YELLOW-THROATED
WARBLER, a LE CONTE'S SPARROW and a BALTIMORE ORIOLE were found on the
Krimlofski tract along Missouri River Ecology Trail.

In Douglas County on the 26th, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW was seen in a yard in
northeast Omaha. On the 25th in Omaha, a WARBLING VIREO and a COMMON
YELLOWTHROAT were found in Towl Park west of 90th and Center. In Sarpy
County on the 26th in Bellevue, a PILEATED WOODPECKER, 5 BROWN THRASHERS,
12 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS, a NORTHERN PARULA and 2 YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS
were found in Fontenelle Forest.

In Cass County on the 24th, a GRAY CATBIRD was seen in Elmwood. Also on
the 24th, 3 GREAT EGRETS, a COMMON SNIPE, ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS and BANK
SWALLOWS were found at a pond southwest of Elmwood.

In Lancaster County on the 26th, a SNOWY EGRET, an UPLAND SANDPIPER, a
BROWN THRASHER and a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW were seen at Spring Creek Prairie
south of Denton.

In Dixon County on the 26th, a MERLIN and a BROWN THRASHER were seen
northwest of Wakefield. In Wayne County on the 26th, 4 CHIMNEY SWIFTS
were seen in downtown Wayne.

In Seward County on the 25th, 30 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS, 6 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS and 3 WILLETS were spotted at Tamora Basin west of Waco and at North
Lake Basin north of Utica, 57 LONG- BILLED DOWITCHERS were found. In
York County on the 25th, 3 GREAT EGRETS, 9 AMERICAN AVOCETS and 3
WHITE-FACED IBIS were seen at Sinninger WPA. In Fillmore County on the
25th, 13 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 2 WILLETS and a PEREGRINE FALCON were seen at
Wilkins WPA.

In Clay County on the 25th, 4 CATTLE EGRETS, 4 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS, 3 WHITE- FACED IBIS were seen at Kissinger Basin. Also on
the 25th, 2 GREAT EGRETS, a SNOWY EGRET, 30 AMERICAN AVOCETS and a COMMON
YELLOWTHROAT were found at Harvard Marsh.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 23rd, a WHITE-FACED IBIS, 3
OSPREYS, a BLACK- BELLIED PLOVER, 17 WILLETS, 77 AMERICAN AVOCETS and 10
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were seen at Harlan Reservoir.

In Buffalo County on the 25th CHIMNEY SWIFTS and a PINE SISKIN were found
on the UNK campus.

In western Nebraska in Dawes County on the 25th, a COMMON LOON and a GREAT
EGRET were found at the Chadron city dams.
