Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Monday, April 30th.

In western Nebraska in Hitchcock County on the 29th, a TRICOLORED HERON,
a SNOWY PLOVER and2 PIPING PLOVERS were seen at Swanson Reservoir, and on the
28th, 5 SNOWY EGRETS were found there. In Chase County on the 28th, a
CLARK'S GREBE was spotted at Enders Reservoir. In Dundy County on the
29th, a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was seen in Haigler. In Keith County on
the 29th, a RED-NECKED GREBE was seen at Lake Ogallala.

In Kimball County on the 28th, 21 WHITE-FACED IBIS (Oliver Reservoir), 2
MOUNTAIN PLOVERS, a COMMON POORWILL, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD and a LARK
BUNTING were found. A EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was seen in the town of
Kimball on the 29th.

In eastern Nebraska in Fillmore County on the 28th, a RED PHALAROPE in
transitional plumage was seen at Wilkins WPA. Other birds seen in the
Rainwater Basin from the 27th-29th were 19 species of shorebirds
including 79 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS, 1,812 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 8 UPLAND
SANDPIPERS, 12 HUDSONIAN GODWITS and 726 LONG-BILLED Dowitchers.

In Douglas County on the 27th, 2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS and CLIFF SWALLOWS were
found at Standing Bear Lake. On the 28th, a NORTHERN PARULA and a SCARLET
TANAGER were seen in Neale Woods. On the 29th, 2 YELLOW-THROATED VIREOS
and a SWAINSON'S THRUSH were found in Dodge Park. In Sarpy County on the
29th in Bellevue the following birds were found in Fontenelle Forest: 2
GREAT EGRETS, 2 PILEATED WOODPECKERS, GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER, LEAST
FLYCATCHER, WHITE-EYED VIREO, RED-EYED VIREO, MARSH WREN, a SCARLET
TANAGER and 10 species of warblers including, TENNESSEE, BLACK and WHITE,
BLACKPOLL, YELLOW and OVENBIRD. Also on the 29th, a SUMMER TANAGER was
seen south of Fontenelle Forest. On the 28th at Schramm State Park, a
YELLOW-THROATED VIREO and 5 BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS were found.

In Dixon County on the 29th, a SNOWY EGRET, a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, a
SWAINSON'S THRUSH and an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER were seen at Ponca State
Park. In Dakota County on the 29th, a SWAINSON'S THRUSH, a NASHVILLE
WARBLER and a KENTUCKY WARBLER were seen at Crystal Cove, and on the 27th, 2
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were found there.

In Cass County on the 28th, a RUBY-THROATED HUMMINGBIRD was seen in Elmwood.

In Seward County on the 28th at Tamora Marsh, 12 species of shorebirds
were found including: 20 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS and 5 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS. Four SNOWY EGRETS were found at North Lake Basin over the weekend.

In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 28th at Sacramento/Wilcox WMA
the following species were found; a CINNAMON TEAL, a PEREGRINE FALCON, 2
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 10 WILLETS, a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, about 330
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, about 620 WILSON'S PHALAROPES, an EASTERN
KINGBIRD and a WESTERN KINGBIRD.
