Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Thursday, May 3rd. Audubon will sponsor Bird Walks
in Fontenelle Forest each Sunday morning throughout May. Meet at 7:30 AM
at the Gifford Rd. parking lot across from the Wetlands Center.

In western Nebraska in Kimball County on the 2nd, a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH
and a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE were found at Oliver Reservoir, and a BLACK and
WHITE WARBLER was seen at the Bushnell Cemetery. Also on the 2nd, a
CASSIN'S KINGBIRD was seen in southwest Kimball County. On April 28th, a
SAY'S PHOEBE and a ROCK WREN were found at Oliver Reservoir.

In Sioux County on the 2nd, a WINTER WREN, a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER and 2
HERMIT THRUSHES were seen at Wind Springs Ranch. In Dawes County on the
29th, 22 WILLETS were found at the Chadron City Dams. On the 30th, 2
BLACK AND WHITE WARBLERS and a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK were seen in Chadron.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 2nd, 3 male CINNAMON TEAL and 31 MARBLED
GODWITS were found at Kiowa WMA. Also on the 2nd, a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE was
seen in a yard in Mitchell. On the 29th in marshes south of Morrill, 4
WHITE-FACED IBIS, 6 pairs of CINNAMON TEAL and 5 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were
found. Also on the 29th, a GOLDEN EAGLE and 2 LOGGERHEAD SHRIKES were
found along South Morrill and Stegal Roads. A PYGMY NUTHATCH was spotted
at the Wildcat Hills Nature Center on the 28th.

In eastern Nebraska in Cass County on the 2nd, a BAIRD'S SPARROW was
carefully studied along Adams Street 1.5 miles west of Elmwood.

In Seward County on the 1st, the following birds were found at Tamora
Marsh: 13 WHITE-FACED IBIS, 3 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 28 AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVERS, 12 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, 2 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 4 LESSER
YELLOWLEGS, a SPOTTED SANDPIPER, 16 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 5 LEAST
SANDPIPERS, 17 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS and 32 WILSON'S PHALAROPES.

In Douglas County on the 30th, a WESTERN KINGBIRD was spotted at Eppley
Airfield. In Sarpy County on the 2nd in Bellevue, an INDIGO BUNTING was
seen in Quail Creek housing area. On the 1st, 3 CLAY- COLORED SPARROWS
were seen in a yard near Bellevue University.

In Washington County on the 30th at Neale Woods, a TENNESSEE WARBLER, a
NASHVILLE WARBLER and AMERICAN REDSTARTS were found on the Missouri River
Ecology Trail. On the 29th, 14 AMERICAN PIPITS, a GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSH and
an ORCHARD ORIOLE were found at Boyer Chute NWR.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 30th at Harlan Reservoir, 55
AMERICAN AVOCETS, 3 MARBLED GODWITS, 2 LONG-BILLED CURLEWS, 5 WILSON'S
PHALAROPES and 6 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were seen at the Highway 183 Bridge.
