Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, May 18th.
In western Nebraska in Kimball County on the 17th at Oliver Reservoir, a
WESTERN WOOD-PEWEE, a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, a LAZULI BUNTING and a RED
CROSSBILL were found. On the 14th, a GREEN-TAILED TOWHEE was seen at
Oliver Reservoir.
In Dundy County on the 12th, a COMMON LOON was seen at Rock Creek SRA.
In Keith county on the 13th, 3 CLARK'S GREBES were found at Lake Ogallala.
In eastern Nebraska in Clay County on the 15th, a BLACK-NECKED STILT was
seen at Sandpiper WPA. On the 8th, 3 BLACK-NECKED STILTS were spotted at
Freeman Lakes in York County.
In Sarpy County on the 18th, a GREAT EGRET, 4 SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, 5
HUDSONIAN GODWITS and 4 DUNLINS were found at La Platte Bottoms south of
Offutt AFB. Also on the 18th, a BELL'S VIREO was singing at the entrance
to Offutt Lake. On the 15th in Bellevue, 2 YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS, 2
GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSHES, a SUMMER TANAGER and 8 species of warblers including
a BLACKBURNIAN, a BLACK-THROATED GREEN and a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH were
found along the Riverview boardwalk in Fontenelle Forest. On the 14th in
Bellevue, a BARRED OWL and 2 SUMMER TANAGERS were found in Mormon Hollow in
Fontenelle Forest.
