Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Monday, June 11th.

In eastern Nebraska in Knox County on the 5th and 6th, a LAZULI BUNTING was
spotted 3 miles east and a half mile south of Niobrara.

In Richardson County on the 10th at Indian Cave State Park, 2 ACADIAN
FLYCATCHERS were heard singing on Trail 9 and a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was
found on Trail 5.

In Lancaster County on the 9th at Little Salt Fork Marsh, 28 WHITE-RUMPED
SANDPIPERS, a WILSON'S PHALAROPE and a WILLOW FLYCATCHER were seen. At
Branched Oak Lake on the 9th, 30 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS, 17
DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS, 2 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, 4 RING-BILLED
GULLS and a CASPIAN TERN were found.

In western Nebraska on the 7th in Chase County, a MISSISSIPPI KITE was
found at the County Courthouse in Imperial. On the 10th at Enders
Reservoir, a COMMON LOON, 2 WESTERN GREBES and a CLARK'S GREBE were seen.
Two CASSIN'S SPARROWS were found on the 10th, at Church Grove at Enders
Reservoir. Also on the 10th, 3 BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen at the
Imperial Light Dam. On the 9th and 10th, a CINNAMON TEAL was seen 1 mile
east of Imperial along Highway 6. In Dundy County on the 10th, 4
CASSIN'S SPARROWS were found 3.5 miles west of Benkleman.

In Keith County on the 8th at Lake Ogallala, a PACIFIC LOON (1st
alternate), a HOODED MERGANSER and 7 CASPIAN TERNS were found.

In Morrill County on the 9th, a SCISSOR-TAILED FLYCATCHER was spotted at
a wayside area about 15 miles south of Alliance.

In Dawes County on the 8th, a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK, 3 YELLOW-BREASTED
CHATS and a WESTERN TANAGER were found at the Soldier's Creek wilderness
area north of Forth Robinson.

In central Nebraska on the 9th in Loup County the following birds were
found at Calamus Reservoir: 300 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS, a juvenile BALD
EAGLE, a COOPER'S HAWK, a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, a SEMIPALMATED
SANDPIPER, 4 WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 3 WILLOW FLYCATCHERS, 11 BELL'S VIREOS,
3 YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS and 4 BOBOLINKS.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 9th, 2 PIPING PLOVERS, a
RING-BILLED GULL, a LEAST TERN and 2 WESTERN KINGBIRDS were found at the
Mid-American south pond.
