Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, July 3rd.

In eastern Nebraska in the eastern Rainwater Basin on June 30th - July 1
the following species were found: an AMERICAN BITTERN, 6 GREAT EGRETS,
64 CATTLE EGRETS, 6 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, a YELLOW-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERON, 34 WHITE-FACED IBIS, 2 SANDHILL CRANES, 14 AMERICAN AVOCETS,
20 LESSER YELLOWLEGS and a COMMON SNIPE.

In Lancaster County on the 30th south of Denton, 10 UPLAND SANDPIPERS,
BELL'S VIREOS, 5 HENSLOW'S SPARROWS and a BOBOLINK were found on Audubon
Spring Creek Prairie.

In Sarpy County on July 1st at Fontenelle Forest, a pair of AMERICAN
REDSTARTS were found along the upland boardwalk.

In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 29th, a COMMON LOON, 17
CLARK'S GREBES, 9 WILLETS and 3 CASPIAN TERNS were seen on Lake Ogallala.
Also on the 29th, 19 CLARK'S GREBES, 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 20 LESSER
YELLOWLEGS, 6 MARBLED GODWITS, a SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER and 4 HERRING GULLS
were found at Lake McConaughy.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 29th, a SNOWY EGRET and 4 CINNAMON TEAL were
seen at Kiowa WMA. Two COMMON LOONS were found at Lake Alice on the 29th.

In Morrill County on the 1st, 25 WILSON'S PHALAROPES, 150 RING-BILLED
GULLS and 500 FRANKLIN'S GULLS were seen in a flooded pasture south of Bayard.

In central Nebraska on the 30th in Buffalo County, a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO,
a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO and WILLOW FLYCATCHERS were seen at the Rowe Sanctuary.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 1st, a PIPING PLOVER, 3 LEAST
TERNS and 3 CASPIAN TERNS were seen at the Mid American south pond. Also
on the 1st south of Bartlett, 22 GREAT EGRETS, a SNOWY EGRET and 50
AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were found at Forney Lake.
