Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, July 20th.

In eastern Nebraska in Clay County on the 17th, a GLOSSY IBIS, 70
WHITE-FACED IBIS, 15 BLACK- CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, 5 SORAS and a SANDHILL
CRANE were found at Harvard WPA. Shorebirds seen at Harvard on the 17th
were: GREATER and LESSER YELLOWLEGS, SOLITARY SANDPIPER, UPLAND SANDPIPER,
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER, LEAST SANDPIPER, SHORT- BILLED DOWITCHER, COMMON
SNIPE and WILSON'S PHALAROPE.

In Sarpy County on the 17th, 4 PIPING PLOVERS and a LEAST TERN were seen on
the Platte River at Camp Maha.

In Lancaster County on the 17th, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER and HENSLOW'S
SPARROWS were found at Audubon's Spring Creek Prairie south of Denton.

In Dixon County on the 20th, 2 BLUE GROSBEAKS were seen northwest of
Wakefield, and on the 19th, 3 BLACK-BILLED CUCKOOS were found there.

In western Nebraska in southern Sioux County on the 16th, a female RUFOUS
HUMMINGBIRD was seen at a feeder at Wind Springs Ranch.

In Garden County on the 16th, 2 CLARK'S GREBES were seen just south of
Crescent Lake NWR.

In Keith County on the 16th, 6 CLARK'S GREBES and 20 WESTERN GREBES were
found on Lake Ogallala below the dam.

In central Nebraska on the 18th in Harlan County, a SPOTTED SANDPIPER, 4
BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS, 6 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS and a WESTERN SANDPIPER were
seen at the boat dock in Alma. Large numbers of GREAT EGRETS and CATTLE
EGRETS are also being seen in Alma south of the trailer park.
