Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, July 24th.

In eastern Nebraska in Clay County on the 20th at Harvard WPA 2 adult
GLOSSY IBIS, 67 WHITE- FACED IBIS, 3 juvenile YELLOW-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS, a WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, 127 STILT SANDPIPERS and 5
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS were found. Also on the 20th, a COMMON MOORHEN
was seen at Kissinger WMA.

In Dixon County on the 22nd at Ponca State Park, a family of PIPING
PLOVERS, 10 species of shorebirds, a CASPIAN TERN, a pair of LEAST TERNS
and 3 BLACK TERNS were found on sandbars on the Missouri River.

In Douglas County on the 24th, a CHUKAR was seen sitting on a nest in a
housing area near 90th and Harrison in Omaha.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 23rd, a EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVE and a juvenile RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD were found in Mitchell. On
the 22nd, 3 COMMON LOONS were seen at Lake Alice and a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE
was seen at Kiowa WMA.

In Lincoln County on the 21st, 6 CLARK'S GREBES and an immature BALD EAGLE
were seen at Sutherland Reservoir.

In Keith County on the 21st at Lake McConaughy, an adult POMARINE JAEGER,
a SNOWY PLOVER, 62 PIPING PLOVERS, 45 CALIFORNIA GULLS and a CASPIAN TERN
were found. On the 22nd, 41 FORSTER'S TERNS and 9 MARBLED GODWITS were
seen at Lake McConaughy.

In Kimball County on the 21st, 3 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen in
Kimball and 4 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were found in Bushnell.

In central Nebraska on the 20th in Buffalo County, a WHITE-WINGED DOVE
was seen in Kearney. In Phelps County on the 20th, 59 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS and a juvenile YELLOW-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON were seen at Funk Lagoon.

In Iowa, south of Council Bluffs, 2 PIPING PLOVERS, a PECTORAL SANDPIPER,
7 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 14 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 3 BLACK TERNS and a LEAST
TERN were spotted at MidAmerican south pond.
