Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, August 24th.

In eastern Nebraska in Dixon County on the 22nd, a BLUE-HEADED VIREO, a
NASHVILLE WARBLER and a WILSON'S WARBLER were seen northwest of Wakefield.

In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 20th, a COMMON LOON, 3 GREAT
EGRETS, a PEREGRINE FALCON, a RED KNOT, and a CASPIAN TERN were found at
Lake McConaughy. Also on the 20th, a male BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was
seen at the Cedar Point Biological Station. Four MISSISSIPPI KITES were
spotted in Ogallala on the 20th.

In Kimball County on the 20th, a PLUMBEOUS VIREO, a CASSIN'S VIREO, and 2
MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLERS were seen at Oliver Reservoir and 5 TOWNSEND'S
WARBLERS were spotted at the Bushnell Cemetery.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 20th, a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD and a BLACK-HEADED
GROSBEAK were seen in Mitchell.

In Dawes County on the 19th, 5 adult SHARP-TAILED GROUSE (each with 5-7
half-grown chicks) and 2 LARK BUNTINGS were seen north of Crawford along
Highway 71.
