Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Thursday, September 6th.

In western Nebraska in Kimball County on the 1st at Oliver Reservoir, 24
WESTERN WOOD-PEWEES, 3 CASSIN'S VIREOS, a PLUMBEOUS VIREO and 2
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were seen. On the 1st at Bushnell Cemetery a
HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER, 5 TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS and 16 WILSON'S WARBLERS were seen.

In Garden County on the 2nd, a ROCK WREN, a BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, 5
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLERS, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER,
a BLACK-and-WHITE WARBLER and 11 WILSON'S WARBLERS were found at Crescent
Lake NWR.

In eastern Nebraska in Sarpy County an ANHINGA was reportedly seen at
Walnut Creek Lake southwest of Papillion from August 30th to September
2nd. The report was received on September 3rd, the day after it was last seen.

Clay County on the 31st at Kissinger WMA, 82 WHITE-FACED IBIS, 4 SNOWY
EGRETS, 3 BLACK- CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS and 240 NORTHERN PINTAILS were found.
On the 2nd, 6 GREAT EGRETS, a LITTLE BLUE HERON, 33 WHITE-FACED IBIS, 4
AMERICAN AVOCETS and a SORA were found at Kissinger WMA.

In Douglas County on the 3rd a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH was seen at a feeder
in Omaha. Also on the 3rd at Hummel and Dodge Park in north Omaha and at
Neale Woods in Washington Co., 3 MAGNOLIA WARBLERS, a BLACK-and-WHITE
WARBLER, 2 NASHVILLE WARBLERS, a CANADA WARBLER, 6 WILSON'S WARBLERS and a
MOURNING WARBLER were seen.

In Dodge County on the 3rd, 2 UPLAND SANDPIPERS and a RED-BREASTED NUTHATCH
were seen in a yard northwest of Ames.

In Dixon County on the 3rd, 3 NASHVILLE WARBLERS and a TENNESSEE WARBLER
were seen northwest of Wakefield. Also on the 3rd, a PEREGRINE FALCON, a
LESSER YELLOWLEGS, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER, 7 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS, 2
BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS and 8 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were found at the Wakefield
sewage lagoons.

In central Nebraska on the 2nd in Thayer County, 5 EASTERN WOOD-PEWEES, 9
BELL'S VIREOS, a CAROLINA WREN, 3 NASHVILLE WARBLERS, 3 WILSON'S WARBLERS
and 3 AMERICAN REDSTARTS were seen near Little Blue WMA. Also on the 2nd,
8 COMMON SNIPES and 18 GREAT- TAILED GRACKLES were found at Father Hupp Marsh.

In Iowa in Council Bluffs, a WINTER WREN visited a yard from August 31st
to September 3rd.
