Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, September 18th.

In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 15th at Lake McConaughy, 6
AMERICAN GOLDEN- PLOVERS, 3 PIPING PLOVERS, a LONG-BILLED CURLEW, 2 RED
KNOTS, a BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPER, 2 PARASITIC JAEGERS, a LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULL, a GREAT BLACK-BACKED GULL, 8 SABINE'S GULLS, 9 COMMON
TERNS, a PHILADELPHIA VIREO, a MAGNOLIA WARBLER and a BAY-BREASTED WARBLER
were found.

On the 14th in Kimball County, a DUSKY FLYCATCHER was seen at Oliver
Reservoir and a TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was seen at Bushnell Cemetery.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 14th, a RED-NECKED GREBE was spotted at
Lake Alice and 12 COMMON TERNS were seen at Lake Minatare.

In Garden County on the 14th, BARN OWL and a DARK-EYED JUNCO were found at
Crescent Lake NWR. On the 14th in Sheridan County, 21 RED-NECKED
PHALAROPES were seen.

In central Nebraska in Buffalo County on the 16th, a female BLACK-HEADED
GROSBEAK was seen 2 miles east of the I-80 Gibbon Exit.

In Hall County on the 16th at the Lilley Sandpits, an OSPREY, 2
SHARP-SHINNED HAWKS, a BLUE-HEADED VIREO and 2 WILSON'S WARBLERS were found.

In eastern Nebraska in Sarpy County on the 17th in Bellevue, a PEREGRINE
FALCON, a BLUE-HEADED VIREO, a NASHVILLE WARBLER, a YELLOW WARBLER, a
CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, a MAGNOLIA WARBLER, a BAY-BREASTED WARBLER and a
SCARLET TANAGER were seen from the Birdline backyard.

On the 16th in Douglas County at Hummel Park and Forest Lawn Cemetery and
in Washington County at Neale Woods Missouri River Ecology Trail the
following species were seen: 4 BLUE-HEADED VIREOS, 5 RUBY-CROWNED
KINGLETS, 3 SWAINSON'S THRUSHES, 3 BAY-BREASTED WARBLERS, 11 NASHVILLE
WARBLERS, an ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, 2 NORTHERN PARULAS, a MAGNOLIA
WARBLER, 2 OVENBIRDS and 3 WILSON'S WARBLERS.

The YELLOW-BELLIED FLYCATCHER, mistakenly reported from Hummel Park on
the 7th, was actually seen at Platte River State Park in Cass County.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 16th, 110 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS,
a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, 4 SANDERLINGS and 5 CASPIAN TERNS were found at the
MidAmerican south pond.
