Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, September 21st.

In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 19th at Lake McConaughy, an
AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, 2 PIPING PLOVERS, a LONG-BILLED CURLEW, 2 RED
KNOTS, a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER, a LONG-TAILED JAEGER, a GREAT
BLACK-BACKED GULL, 5 SABINE'S GULLS, 3 CASPIAN TERNS and 7 COMMON TERNS
were found. At Lake Ogallala on the 19th, a BROAD-WINGED HAWK, a WILLOW
FLYCATCHER and a BLUE-HEADED VIREO were seen.

In Sioux County on the 19th, a RED-NAPED SAPSUCKER, a SWAINSON'S THRUSH,
a HERMIT THRUSH, a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER, a VESPER SPARROW, a LINCOLN'S
SPARROW and a WHITE-CROWNED SPARROW were seen at Wind Springs Ranch.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 20th, 9 SNOWY EGRETS, a RUDDY
TURNSTONE, a BONAPARTE'S GULL, a SABINE'S GULL, 2 CAROLINA WRENS and a PALM
WARBLER were found at Harlan Reservoir.

In Phelps County on the 20th at Johnson WPA, 21 Plegadis Ibis sp., a
MARBLED GODWIT, 2 SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS and 94 LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were found.

In eastern Nebraska in Clay County on the 18th, a SAY'S PHOEBE was seen
at Harvard WPA and a BLUE-HEADED VIREO was found at Massie WPA. In York
County, 37 AMERICAN AVOCETS were seen at Sinninger WPA. In Fillmore
County, 300 GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were found at Weis WPA. Other birds
found in the eastern Rainwater Basin on the 18th and 19th were: 2 GREAT
EGRETS, 18 plegadis Ibis sp., a MERLIN, 55 STILT SANDPIPERS and 30
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS.

On the 21st in Cass County, a YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER was seen at Louisville SRA.
