Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Wednesday, September 26th.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 22nd at North Platte
NWR, a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER, a BLUE GROSBEAK, a LINCOLN'S SPARROW and a
LAZULI BUNTING were found at Winter's Creek Lake and an OSPREY was found at
Lake Alice. Also on the 22nd, BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS were seen at Kiowa WMA.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 23rd, a GOLDEN PLOVER and a
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER were seen at the Highway 183 Bridge on the west end
of Harlan Reservoir.

In eastern Nebraska in Seward County on the 23rd, a EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVE was seen in Seward.

In Lancaster County on the 22nd at Branched Oak Lake, 450 AMERICAN WHITE
PELICANS, 3 OSPREYS, 15 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, 10 STILT
SANDPIPERS, 10 DOWITCHER sp. and a juvenile SABINE'S GULL were found. Also
on the 22nd, an EASTERN WOOD- PEWEE, 3 EASTERN PHOEBES and a RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCH were seen at Wilderness Park in Lincoln.

In Sarpy County on the 21st in Bellevue, several CAROLINA WRENS, a SUMMER
TANAGER and a WHITE-THROATED SPARROW were found along Gifford Road east of
the railroad tracks in Fontenelle Forest.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 26th, a juvenile SABINE'S GULL was
seen at Lake Manawa along with many FRANKLIN'S GULLS. On the 24th, 6
CASPIAN TERNS were found at the MidAmerican south pond. On the 23rd
north of Crescent, 445 raptors were counted at Hitchcock Nature Area
including, a MISSISSIPPI KITE, 132 BROAD-WINGED HAWKS, 2 MERLINS and 5
PEREGRINE FALCONS.
