Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, October 12th.

In eastern Nebraska in Sarpy County on the 11th in Fontenelle Forest, a
RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, a GRAY CATBIRD, a PALM WARBLER & a SPOTTED TOWHEE
were found on the flood plain trails. On September 27th, several WINTER
WRENS, a BLACK-THROATED BLUE WARBLER & a BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER
were found in Fontenelle Forest.

In Douglas County on the 6th, a PILEATED WOODPECKER was reported from
Hummel Park north of Omaha.

In Burt County on the 9th, an AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER, 4 SEMIPALMATED
PLOVERS, a PECTORAL SANDPIPER, a LEAST SANDPIPER, a LONG-BILLED
DOWITCHER, a HOUSE WREN, 2 GRAY CATBIRDS & a PALM WARBLER were found at
Summit Lake.

In Lancaster County on the 7th in Lincoln, 2 CAROLINA WRENS, a
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET, a DARK-EYED JUNCO & a HARRIS'S SPARROW were found
at Wilderness Park. At Branched Oak Lake on the 7th, a HORNED GREBE, a
LITTLE BLUE HERON, an OSPREY, an EASTERN PHOEBE, 2 HARRIS'S SPARROWS & a
LINCOLN'S SPARROW were seen. At Pawnee Lake, a HERRING GULL, 1500
FRANKLIN'S GULLS, 13 LEAST SANDPIPERS, 4 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 3
PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, 3 STILT SANDPIPERS & a DOWITCHER sp. were found.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 11th, WHITE-CROWNED
SPARROWS & a DARK-EYED JUNCO were spotted in a yard in Mitchell.

In Iowa east of Plattsmouth on the 9th at Keg Lake, 4 SNOWY EGRETS, a
GREAT EGRET, a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, a SEMIPALMATED PLOVER, 3
SANDERLINGS, a STILT SANDPIPER & 5 COMMON SNIPES were seen.
