Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, October 23rd.
In eastern Nebraska in Cedar County on the 21st, a juvenile POMARINE
JAEGER was spotted below the dam at Gavin's Point.
In the eastern Rainwater Basin on the 20th the following species were
seen: a PRAIRIE FALCON (near Harvard WPA in Clay County), 3 SANDHILL
CRANES (Fillmore County), 6 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 3 LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 41
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS, 10 STILT SANDPIPERS, a BONAPARTE'S GULL and 8 LE
CONTE'S SPARROWS.
In Washington County on the 13th, 3 LE CONTE'S SPARROWS were found in the
Cuming City Cemetery.
In Cass County on the 15th, a NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen near Elmwood.
In western Nebraska on the 20th in Kimball County, a PACIFIC LOON and 4
TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES were seen at Oliver Reservoir.
In Keith County on the 12th, an adult NORTHERN GOSHAWK was spotted along
the Platte River in Ogallala.
In central Nebraska on the 21st in Buffalo County, 115 GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE were seen flying over I-80 near Gibbon.
In Phelps County on the 21st at Funk WPA, 5 EARED GREBES, a LESSER SCAUP
and a SAVANNAH SPARROW were seen.
In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 19th, a juvenile SABINE'S GULL was
seen at Lake Manawa.
