Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, November 27th.

In eastern Nebraska in Knox County on the 26th, a SMITH'S LONGSPUR was
found along the roadside 3.5 miles east of Creighton. Six LAPLAND
LONGSPURS were also found in Knox County. On the 25th, a EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVE was seen on the west edge of Creighton and a PRAIRIE FALCON
was seen just north of Creighton.

In Lancaster County on the 25th at Branched Oak Lake, an AMERICAN WHITE
PELICAN, a ROSS'S GOOSE, 8 SNOW GEESE, 3 HERRING GULLS, 200 RING-BILLED
GULLS and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were seen. On the 26th at Branched Oak Lake, 2
NORTHERN SHRIKES were found.

In central Nebraska in Phelps county on the 24th, a MERLIN was seen near
Atlanta. On the 18th at Johnson WPA, 320 AMERICAN PIPITS were found.
Also on the 18th, 5 HOODED MERGANSERS were seen on a sandpit a mile south
of the Odessa I-80 exit.

In Buffalo County on the 23rd, a GRAY CATBIRD was seen 3 miles southeast
of Gibbon. On the 19th, a PRAIRIE FALCON was seen flying over the west
campus of UNK in Kearney. On the 18th, a COOPER'S HAWK and a FOX SPARROW
were seen 2 miles east of the Gibbon I-80 exit, and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was
seen a mile east of the Gibbon I-80 exit.

In western Nebraska in Frontier County on the 24th, a MERLIN, a MOUNTAIN
BLUEBIRD and a NORTHERN SHRIKE were seen at Red Willow Reservoir, and on
the 25th, 10 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, a NORTHERN SHRIKE, a SPOTTED TOWHEE and 40
PINE SISKINS were found there.

In Red Willow County on the 24th, an immature BALD EAGLE was spotted
about 3 miles west of Cambridge.

In Dawes County on the 20th, several ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS and 7 SHARP-TAILED
GROUSE were seen at Walgren Lake.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 25th, 4 HOODED MERGANSERS and 2
RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS were seen at the MidAmerican south pond.
