Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, December 4th. The next birdline update
will be on Friday, December 14th.

In central Nebraska in Adams County on the 2nd, a VARIED THRUSH visited a
yard briefly in Hastings.

In Dawson County on the 2nd, a HERRING GULL and a WINTER WREN were found at
Plum Creek Reservoir.

In Frontier County on the 2nd, 3 MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS were seen 2.5 miles
south of Eustis and a NORTHERN SHRIKE was found 7 miles south of Eustis.

In eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County on the 2nd, at Branched Oak Lake
an EARED GREBE, 79 HORNED GREBES, an AMERICAN WHITE PELICAN, 2 GREATER
WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, 400 SNOW GEESE, and several ROSS'S GEESE were found.
On November 30th, a LONG-EARED OWL was seen there. On the 2nd, 6 EARED
GREBES, 3 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS and 2 RED- BREASTED MERGANSERS were
seen at Pawnee Lake.

In Seward County on the 1st, a YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER was seen in Seward.

In Dodge County on the 1st, a PRAIRIE FALCON was spotted about 7 miles
northwest of Ames.

In Clay County on the 2nd, 2 YELLOW-HEADED BLACKBIRDS, 18 COMMON GRACKLES
and 12 BROWN-HEADED COWBIRDS were seen in Grafton. Also on the 2nd, a
PRAIRIE FALCON was seen in Clay County.

In Madison County on the 2nd in Norfolk, 4 RED-BREASTED NUTHATCHES and a
GOLDEN-CROWNED KINGLET were found at the cemetery on Maple Street.

In Pierce County on the 2nd, a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was spotted about 6.5
miles east of the junction of Highways 98 and 81.
