Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, February 20th.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 20th, 3 EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVES were seen in Mitchell.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 19th, 40 SANDHILL CRANES were
seen flying over Alma. Also on the 19th, several BALD EAGLES were seen
on the ice at Harlan Reservoir.

In eastern Nebraska in Gage County on the 18th, an EASTERN BLUEBIRD was
seen with a large flock of AMERICAN ROBINS at Homestead National
Monument. On the 18th between Crete and Beatrice the following species
were found along Highways 103 and 4: 2 BALD EAGLES, a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, a
MERLIN, 50 HORNED LARKS, a NORTHERN SHRIKE, a LAPLAND LONGSPUR and 150
MEADOWLARKS (sp.).

In Saline County on the 18th, 3 PINE SISKINS were seen on the Doane
College Campus in Crete.

In Dodge County on the 15th, a PRAIRIE FALCON was spotted about 7 miles
northwest of Ames.

In Washington County at Neale Woods Nature Center, 7-10 RED CROSSBILLS
are still visiting the feeders, usually in the afternoon.
