Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, January 15th.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 13th, a WHITE-WINGED
CROSSBILL and a LESSER GOLDFINCH were seen at a feeder in Morrill. On the
12th, the SAGE THRASHER was seen again at the entrance to Scotts Bluff
National Monument. Also on the 12th, 2 GREATER SCAUP and a CANVASBACK were
found at the Scottsbluff sewage lagoons. On the 11th and 12th, 3
WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at a feeder about a mile east of
Scottsbluff.

In eastern Nebraska on the 11th in Sarpy County in Bellevue, a PILEATED
WOODPECKER was seen at Hidden Lake in Fontenelle Forest. On the 12th,
13th, and 15th, the PINE WARBLER was seen again, briefly, at the birdline
peanut feeder and birdbath in Bellevue.

In Douglas County on the 11th, 5 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were found in
Hillcrest Cemetery at 56th and Center Streets in Omaha. On the 12th, a
YELLOW-BELLIED SAPSUCKER and 2 PINE SISKINS were found at Hillcrest
Cemetery.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 13th, 2 SNOW GEESE, an AMERICAN
BLACK DUCK and a GADWALL were seen with several hundred MALLARDS at the
MidAmerican south pond.
