Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Monday, January 21st.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 18th, a pair of HOODED
MERGANSERS and a SANDHILL CRANE were seen at Winter's Creek Lake.

In Keith County on the 20th the following species were found on Lake
Ogallala: a GREAT BLUE HERON, 7 TRUMPETER SWANS, 11 species of ducks
including 5 GREATER SCAUP, 26 BALD EAGLES and 6 HERRING GULLS. Other
birds seen in Keith and Garden Counties include: 3 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, 54
BLACK-BILLED MAGPIES and about 82 TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRES.

In central Nebraska in Hall County on the 17th, 15 EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVES and a COMMON GRACKLE were seen in Wood River behind 103 Main Street.

In eastern Nebraska in Seward County on the 17th, a EURASIAN
COLLARED-DOVE was seen in Seward.

In Sarpy County on the 16th, PURPLE FINCHES were reported coming to a
feeder north of SchrammPark.

In Cass County on the 18th, 2 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen in Elmwood.

In York County on the 21st, several PINE SISKINS visited a feeder in
York. A PRAIRIE FALCON was seen on the 19th about 4 miles northwest of York.

In Iowa at DeSoto NWR on the 21st, 2 TRUMPETER SWANS were reported on the lake.
