Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, February 1st.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 27th, a SAGE THRASHER
was seen again at the entrance to Scotts Bluff National Monument.

In Keith County on the 19th the following species were found at Lake
McConaughy/Lake Ogallala: 10 TRUMPETER SWANS, a male TUFTED DUCK, 3
HOODED MERGANSERS, a CALIFORNIA GULL, a THAYER'S GULL and a 2nd year GREAT
BLACK-BACKED GULL. Also on the 19th, 10 MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRDS were found
below Keystone Dam. On the 26th at Lake McConaughy/Lake Ogallala 25
TRUMPETER SWANS, 2 GREATER SCAUP and 2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS were found. The
TUFTED DUCK was not relocated.

In Arthur County on the 26th, a WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL was seen at a
feeder in Arthur.

In Lincoln County on the 26th, 4 SNOW GEESE and 4 ROSS'S GEESE were found
at the North Platte sewage treatment ponds.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 26th, 3 AMERICAN WHITE
PELICANS were seen at the bridge on Highway 183 in Alma.

In eastern Nebraska in Dixon County on the 31st, a male WHITE-WINGED
CROSSBILL, 4 PURPLE FINCHES and PINE SISKINS visited the Wakefield School
feeders. On the 27th, 2 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were found in Wakefield.
On the 26th at Ponca State Park, a CAROLINA WREN was seen.

In Cedar County on the 25th, 27 BALD EAGLES were seen at Gavin's Point Dam.

In Antelope County on the 26th, a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK and a SHORT-EARED OWL
were found just south of Creighton.

In Clay County on the 26th the following species were found: 2
ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, a FERRUGINOUS HAWK (at the Meat Animal Research
Center) and 2 MERLINS (between Verona and Clay Center).

In Washington County on the 25th, 3 BALD EAGLES and a WINTER WREN were seen
at Neale Woods. On the 27th, a KILLDEER and 52 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were
found at the Sauger turnout at Boyer Chute NWR. On the 17th, a RED
CROSSBILL was spotted at the Ft. Calhoun Cemetery.

In Otoe County on the 28th, 30 BALD EAGLES were seen in a field northwest
of Nebraska City near the Kimmel Orchard.

In Lancaster County on the 25th at Branched Oak Lake, 5 BALD EAGLES, a
PRAIRIE FALCON, several HERRING GULLS and 2 NORTHERN SHRIKES were found.
On the 24th, 2 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS, 2 HARRIS'S SPARROWS and 4 PURPLE FINCHES
were seen at Spring Creek Prairie.

In Cass County on the 27th, 4 BALD EAGLES, 3 EASTERN BLUEBIRDS and 2 PURPLE
FINCHES were found at Louisville State Recreation Area.
