Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Sunday, March 17th.

In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 17th, an immature
GOLDEN-CROWNED SPARROW was reported from Sacramento-Wilcox WMA.

In eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County on the 17th, a LESSER
BLACK-BACKED GULL was spotted at Branched oak Lake.

In Douglas County on the 17th, 17 TUNDRA SWANS were seen at Lonergan Lake
just north of Cunningham Lake. On the 16th, 3 TRUMPETER SWANS were found
at Cunningham Lake on the north side of Highway 36. On the 14th, the
WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were still being seen at feeders south of
Methodist Hospital.

In Sarpy County on the 17th in Bellevue, 2 GREATER WHITE-FRONTED GEESE, a
RED- SHOULDERED HAWK, 2 WOOD DUCKS and a RED-HEADED WOODPECKER were found
in Fontenelle Forest.

In Dixon County on the 15th, a COMMON REDPOLL was still visiting feeders
northwest of Wakefield.

In western Nebraska on the 17th in Sioux County, a COMMON SNIPE and
COMMON REDPOLLS were seen on Wind Springs Ranch.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 16th, 2 GREATER SCAUP, 2
RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS and a FRANKLIN'S GULL were seen at Lake Manawa.
