Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, April 9th.

In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 6th, 13 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 5
LESSER YELLOWLEGS, 237 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS, 3 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS, 2
COMMON SNIPES and 5 WILSON'S PHALAROPES were found at Funk Lagoon.

In Kearney County on the 6th, a CINNAMON TEAL and an AMERICAN PIPIT were
seen at Gleason WPA. In Buffalo County on the 8th in Kearney, 7 GREATER
YELLOWLEGS, 4 LESSER YELLOWLEGS and 4 MARBLED GODWITS were found at Kearney Lake.

In Rock County on the 7th, 2 EURASIAN-COLLARED DOVES were seen in
Bassett. In Keya Paha County on the 7th, 2 ROUGH-LEGGED HAWKS, a GOLDEN
EAGLE and a PRAIRIE FALCON were spotted.

In eastern Nebraska in Washington County on the 7th, 14 COMMON SNIPES
were seen at Nathan's Lake. On the 8th at Cunningham Lake north of
Omaha, a GREAT EGRET, 4 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS and a COOPER'S HAWK were
found. At DeSoto NWR on the 8th, FIELD SPARROW, VESPER SPARROW and FOX
SPARROW were found.

In Lancaster County on the 6th, 2 VESPER SPARROWS were found at Little
Salt Creek Fork Marsh. On the 6th at Pawnee Lake, a BONAPARTE'S GULL was
seen. At Conestoga Lake on the 6th, a COMMON LOON and 3 EARED GREBES were
found. At Branched Oak Lake on the 6th, 3 ROSS'S GEESE, 2 FRANKLIN'S
GULLS, 33 BAIRD'S SANDPIPERS and a BARN SWALLOW were spotted. On the 7th,
a HOUSE WREN was seen in Lincoln.

In Sarpy County on the 4th in Bellevue, a RED-SHOULDERED HAWK, a PILEATED
WOODPECKER, a RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET and a FIELD SPARROW were found in
Fontenelle Forest. On the 5th in Fontenelle Forest a HERMIT THRUSH was
found and on the 6th, a WINTER WREN was seen there. On the 8th, 300
AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were seen in Fontenelle Forest in the Great
Marsh. In Douglas County on the 5th, 2 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS continued
to visit feeders south of Methodist Hospital in Omaha.

In Knox County on the 4th, 2 PURPLE MARTINS were seen in Creighton.

In western Nebraska on the 1st in southern Sioux County, a SAY'S PHOEBE
was seen at Wind Springs Ranch. Also In Sioux County on the 6th, a
CLARK'S NUTCRACKER, 3 PYGMY NUTHATCHES and 12 RED CROSSBILLS were found at
Gilbert Baker WMA.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 6th, HORNED GREBES and 500 SANDHILL CRANES
were seen at Winter's Creek Lake and Little Lake Alice.

In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 5th, a BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERON
was spotted at Lake Manawa.
