Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, April 12th.
In central Nebraska in Rock County on the 9th, 2 AMERICAN WOODCOCKS were
displaying 1/4 mile east of Bassett.
In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 11th, a TOWNSEND'S
SOLITAIRE was seen on a nest at Wildcat Hills SRA. On the 12th, a BARN
SWALLOW was seen south of Gering.
In eastern Nebraska in Washington County on the 12th, 2 SANDHILL CRANES,
4 GREATER YELLOWLEGS, 4 LESSER YELLOWLEGS and 14 COMMON SNIPE were seen at
Nathan's Lake. Also on the 12th, a YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER was seen at
Neale Woods Krimlofski Tract.
In Sarpy County on the 11th in Bellevue, a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH was
found in Fontenelle Forest in Child's Hollow. On the 9th in Fontenelle
Forest, a PEREGRINE FALCON, 2 ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOWS and a WINTER WREN were
seen. On the 10th, 6 SAVANNAH SPARROWS were seen at Chalco Hills
Recreation Area. In Douglas County on the 10th, a GREAT EGRET was
spotted at Cunningham Lake north of Omaha.
In Burt County on the 7th, a SWAINSON'S HAWK was seen at the Tekamah
sewage lagoons.
In Dixon County on the 11th, a RED CROSSBILL was seen at the Wakefield
School feeders.
In Dodge County on the 10th, a SOLITARY SANDPIPER was seen at a farm pond
northwest of Ames, and on the 11th, a BARN SWALLOW was seen there.
In Iowa south of Council Bluffs on the 9th, a COMMON LOON and a GREATER
SCAUP were seen at Lake Manawa.
