Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, April 16th.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 13th, 24 AMERICAN AVOCETS and 3
CLIFF SWALLOWS were seen at Harlan Reservoir, and on the 14th, an OSPREY
was seen there.

In Phelps County on the 13th the following birds were found at Funk
Lagoon: a BLACK-NECKED STILT, an AMERICAN AVOCET, 2 MARBLED GODWITS and 2
CINNAMON TEALS. The BLACK-NECKED STILT was seen again on the 14th.

In Kearney County on the 13th, a EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVE was found in Minden.

In Hall County on the 14th, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was seen at Hannon WPA.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 15th, 5 AMERICAN
AVOCETS were seen at Kiowa WMA. On the 14th, a BURROWING OWL was seen
near the Scottsbluff landfill.

In eastern Nebraska in Washington County on the 14th, a LOUISIANA
WATERTHRUSH was found on Rock Creek at Neale Woods.

In Sarpy County on the 13th in Bellevue, a PILEATED WOODPECKER and 7
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS were found in Fontenelle Forest. In Douglas
County on the 15th, an early male SCARLET TANAGER was seen at a feeder at
King Lake. On the 10th, 13 GREAT EGRETS were seen at Cunningham Lake.

In Lancaster County on the 13th in Wilderness Park, a BLUE-GRAY
GNATCATCHER, a CAROLINA WREN and 2 HERMIT THRUSHES were seen. On the 14th
at Pawnee Lake, 2 MARBLED GODWITS were spotted. Also on the 14th, 5
EARED GREBES, a WILLET, 8 MARBLED GODWITS, 5 BONAPARTE'S GULLS and a
FORSTER'S TERN were seen at Branched Oak Lake. On the 15th south of
Denton, a BROWN THRASHER and a GRASSHOPPER SPARROW were seen at Spring
Creek Prairie.

In the eastern Rainwater Basin on the 14th, an AMERICAN BITTERN, 21
ROSS'S GEESE, 10 species of shorebirds including 2 AMERICAN
GOLDEN-PLOVERS and 8 AMERICAN AVOCETS, 5 BREWER'S BLACKBIRDS and 81
GREAT-TAILED GRACKLES were found.

In Dixon County on the 16th, a RED CROSSBILL was still visiting the
feeder at the Wakefield School.

In Knox County on the 13th, a WESTERN GREBE was found below Standing Bear
Bridge on the Niobrara River. On the 11th, 7 MARBLED GODWITS were seen
in Creighton.

In Richardson County on the 10th, an AMERICAN BITTERN was seen near Shubert.
