Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Monday, May 6th.

In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 4th, 15 BLACK-CROWNED
NIGHT-HERONS, 22 WHITE- FACED IBIS, a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, a SNOWY
PLOVER, 4 HUDSONIAN GODWITS, 500 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS and about 600
LONG-BILLED DOWITCHERS were found at Funk Lagoon.

In eastern Nebraska in Richardson County on the 5th at Indian Cave State
Park the following species were found: an EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, 6 SCARLET
TANAGERS, 4 SUMMER TANAGERS and 14 species of warblers including a
BLACKPOLL WARBLER, a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, a CERULEAN WARBLER and 5
KENTUCKY WARBLERS.

In Platte County on the 2nd at Lake North and Lake Babcock, a COMMON LOON,
9 WESTERN GREBES, a LEAST FLYCATCHER, 2 GRAY-CHEEKED THRUSHES and 4 PALM
WARBLERS were found.

In Douglas County on the 4th, 5 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were still coming
to a feeder southwest of Methodist Hospital in Omaha. In Sarpy County on
the 6th in Bellevue, a RED-EYED VIREO, several TENNESSEE WARBLERS and 2
NASHVILLE WARBLERS were seen in Fontenelle Forest. On the 5th, a PILEATED
WOODPECKER, a GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER and a MAGNOLIA WARBLER were seen in
Fontenelle Forest on lowland trails and on the 4th, a SORA was seen along
Stream Trail.

In Washington County on the 4th at Neale Woods, 2 KENTUCKY WARBLERS, an
OVENBIRD and a SCARLET TANAGER were found. On the 3rd at Nathan's Lake, 17
WILLETS and a HUDSONIAN GODWIT were seen.

In Burt County on the 5th at Summit Lake 13 species of shorebirds
including, 11 AMERICAN GOLDEN- PLOVERS, 3 SANDERLINGS, 30 WHITE-RUMPED
SANDPIPERS and a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER were found. A WESTERN SANDPIPER
was seen there on the 4th.

In Dixon County on the 5th on Road #866, 4 GREAT EGRETS, 9 HUDSONIAN
GODWITS, 9 MARBLED GODWITS, and a BLACK TERN were found on a farm pond
between 580 and 579 Avenues.

In Antelope County on the 1st, a MERLIN, 15 AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVERS and a
WHIMBREL were seen.

In Lancaster County on the 5th at Branched Oak Lake, a BONAPARTE'S GULL,
59 FORSTER'S TERNS and 12 species of shorebirds were found including 29
AMERICAN AVOCETS, 2 WILLETS, 42 WHITE- RUMPED SANDPIPERS, a DUNLIN and 5
STILT SANDPIPERS. At Jack Sinn WMA on the 5th, 4 SORAS were seen. On
the 4th, south of Denton, a BROAD-WINGED HAWK, 8 SWAINSON'S HAWKS, an
UPLAND SANDPIPER, a LEAST FLYCATCHER, a SEDGE WREN and a BOBOLINK were seen
at Spring Creek Prairie. On the 3rd, 2 MARSH WRENS and a BOBOLINK were
found at Cracker Barrel Marsh. On the 1st, a BLACK-THROATED GREEN
WARBLER and an INDIGO BUNTING were seen in Pioneer Park.

In western Nebraska in Sheridan County on the 2nd, 2 BLACK-NECKED STILTS,
a LONG-BILLED CURLEW, a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER and a CINNAMON TEAL were
found between Alliance and Antioch on Highway 2. In Sioux County on the
1st, 2 MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLERS were spotted on Wind Springs Ranch. On
the 3rd, LARK BUNTINGS were found in Sioux County.
