Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Friday, May 10th.

In central Nebraska in Harlan County on the 8th, a BLACK-HEADED GROSBEAK
and a LAZULI BUNTING were seen in Alma.

In Phelps County on the 5th, 21 WHITE-FACED IBISES, 22 AMERICAN AVOCETS,
a SNOWY PLOVER, 7 BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS, 100 STILT SANDPIPERS were found
a Funk Lagoon. Also on the 5th, 5 SANDHILL CRANES were spotted 3 miles
southeast of the Overton Platte River bridge.

In eastern Nebraska in Cass County on the 8th at Platte River State Park
the following species were found: a KENTUCKY WARBLER, a LOUISIANA
WATERTHRUSH and a pair of SCARLET TANAGERS.

In Dixon County on the 6th, a PAINTED BUNTING was seen at the feeder at
Ponca State Park. It was not seen again after it was reported.

In Douglas County on the 8th, a CERULEAN WARBLER and a SUMMER TANAGER were
found on the north side of Hummel Park along the creek. In Sarpy County
on the 6th in Bellevue, a BLACK- THROATED GREEN WARBLER, a BLACKPOLL and a
SCARLET TANAGER were seen in Fontenelle Forest. On the 10th in the
Birdline backyard, a female CAPE MAY WARBLER was seen at the bird bath.
Also on the 10th, a PILEATED WOODPECKER was seen in a yard on South
Bellevue Blvd.

In Washington County on the 7th at Neale Woods, a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER
was seen at the lake across the road from the Krimlofski tract.

In Burt County on the 10th at Summit Lake, 12 species of shorebirds were
seen including 12 HUDSONIAN GODWITS, a SANDERLING, a DUNLIN and 2
SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHERS.

In Lancaster County on the 9th at Pawnee Lake, a HUDSONIAN GODWIT, 2
SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS, 10 STILT SANDPIPERS and a PEREGRINE FALCON were
found. On the 5th at Wagon Train WMA 61 species were seen including: a
BLUE-HEADED VIREO, a CHESTNUT-SIDED WARBLER, a MAGNOLIA WARBLER, an
OVENBIRD, a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH and a SWAMP SPARROW.

In Fillmore County on the 9th, 16 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS were seen near
Geneva and a MAGNOLIA WARBLER and a WILSON'S WARBLER were found in the Geneva
cemetery.

In Knox County on the 10th, a LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH and a NORTHERN
WATERTHRUSH were seen along Bazile Creek in Creighton.

In western Nebraska in Scotts Bluff County on the 8th, 2 BLACK-HEADED
GROSBEAKS and a BULLOCK'S ORIOLE were seen in a Mitchell yard. On the 8th,
a LAZULI BUNTING was spotted in a yard in Gering. On the 7th, a LESSER
GOLDFINCH was seen in Scottsbluff.

In Garden County on the 7th, WHITE-FACED IBIS, BELL'S VIREO and LARK
BUNTINGS were seen at Crescent Lake NWR.

In Sheridan County on the 7th, 3 BLACK-NECKED STILTS were seen along
Highway 2 about 10 miles east of Alliance.
