Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Thursday, May 16th.

In eastern Nebraska in Knox County on the 15th, a HERMIT WARBLER and a
female CAPE MAY WARBLER were found along Road 530, 5.5 miles north of
Creighton in a grove of pine trees. On the morning of the 16th, a CAPE
MAY WARBLER and a BLUE GROSBEAK were found at this area.

In Sarpy County on the 14th, a female CAPE MAY WARBLER was seen in a
backyard pond in Papillion. In Douglas County on the 15th at a mudflat
at 168th St. and Highway 36 in northwest Omaha, 4 WHITE- FACED IBIS, 5
HUDSONIAN GODWITS and a WESTERN SANDPIPER were found. On the 14th, 2
EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen west of Valley at the Pines Golf Course.

In Richardson County on the 14th at Indian Cave State Park, a
PHILADELPHIA VIREO, a GRAY- CHEEKED THRUSH, 18 SWAINSON'S THRUSHES, a
GOLDEN-WINGED WARBLER, a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER, 5 KENTUCKY WARBLERS, 9
SUMMER TANAGERS and 5 SCARLET TANAGERS were found.

In Otoe County on the 14th, a CAPE MAY WARBLER and a BLACKBURNIAN WARBLER
were seen at Arbor Lodge State Park.

In Fillmore County on the 15th, a flock of 35 BUFF-BREASTED SANDPIPERS
were found north of Grafton and a flock of 27 were seen near Sinninger WPA.
Also seen on the 15th between Sinninger and Hide Marsh were 9
BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS and 9 other species of shorebirds.

In Lancaster County on the 14th south of Denton, a LITTLE BLUE HERON and a
PALM WARBLER were found at Spring Creek Prairie. On the 15th, a LAZULI
BUNTING was seen east of Lincoln. On the 15th at the west end of Pawnee
Lake, 9 species of shorebirds were found including 8 HUDSONIAN GODWITS.

In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 14th at Funk Lagoon, 19
WHITE-FACED IBIS, 11 BLACK- BELLIED PLOVERS, 2 HUDSONIAN GODWITS, 2 RUDDY
TURNSTONES, 818 STILT SANDPIPERS, a SHORT-BILLED DOWITCHER and a RED-NECKED
PHALAROPE were seen.

In western Nebraska in Lincoln County on the 14th, 12 SANDERLINGS and a
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE were found at Sutherland Reservoir.

In Keith County on the 14th, 6 ROSS'S GEESE were seen on Lake Ogallala.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 15th, YELLOW-BREASTED CHATS were seen at
Wildcat Hills SRA. Also on the 15th, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was found on
the Banner County section of Wildcat Hills SRA.
