Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Monday, June 10th.
In eastern Nebraska in Knox County on the 8th, a singing BLUE-WINGED
WARBLER was found 4 miles south of Verdigre along the Verdigre River.
Also on the 8th, a YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was seen 4.5 miles south of Verdigre.
In Burt County on the 8th at Summit Lake the following species were seen:
a HOODED MERGANSER, a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, 93 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS, 5
SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS and a PECTORAL SANDPIPER.
In Sarpy County on the 4th south of Bellevue, 5 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS,
6 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS, 2 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS and 3 LEAST SANDPIPERS
were found at a small lake on Missouri River Road.
In central Nebraska in Phelps County on the 8th the following species
were found at Funk Lagoon: 6 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS, a CINNAMON TEAL,
a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, 500 WHITE- RUMPED SANDPIPERS, a STILT SANDPIPER and
25 WILSON'S PHALAROPES.
In western Nebraska in Keith County, WHITE-WINGED DOVES have been seen in
west Ogallala around West Lawn Drive since June 3rd.
In Scotts Bluffs County on the 2nd, 16 WHITE-FACED IBIS and a BLACK-NECKED
STILT were found at Kiowa WMA.
In Sioux County on the 8th, a CORDILLERAN FLYCATCHER was seen in Monroe
Canyon and a PLUMBEOUS VIREO and a BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER were found in Sow
Belly Canyon.
