Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, June 25th.
In eastern Nebraska in Lancaster County on the 22nd south of Denton, a
GREATER PRAIRIE-CHICKEN, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD and a BOBOLINK were found
at Spring Creek Prairie.
In Burt County on the 22nd, a PIPING PLOVER and 3 LEAST SANDPIPERS were
found at Summit Lake southwest of Tekamah.
In Sarpy County on the 24th in Bellevue, an ACADIAN FLYCATCHER and a
LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSH were found in Child's Hollow in Fontenelle Forest.
In Washington County on the 21st in Neale Woods, a PROTHONOTARY WARBLER
was seen in the pond across from the Krimlofski Tract. On the 19th in
Neale Woods, a KENTUCKY WARBLER was heard singing along Rock Creek.
In Pawnee County on the 22nd, a COMMON LOON was seen at Burchard Lake
State Recreation Area.
In Thayer County on the 21st, a singing NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was found at
Spring Creek, 1/4 mile south of Highway 136.
In central Nebraska in Rock County on the 20th a BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD
and a WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL were reported coming to feeders in Bassett.
In Harlan County on the 23rd, 3 CATTLE EGRETS and 11 GREAT EGRETS were seen
around Harlan Reservoir.
In western Nebraska in Keith County on the 22nd at Lake McConaughy, 3
PIPING PLOVERS, 3 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS, a FRANKLIN'S GULL and 10 LEAST
TERNS were found. At Ogallala/Keystone Lakes on the 22nd, 2 COMMON
LOONS, 19 WESTERN GREBES, a COMMON GOLDENEYE and 2 CASPIAN TERNS were seen.
On the 22nd, 2 MISSISSIPPI KITES were seen in Ogallala. Also on the
22nd, a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD was spotted northwest of Roscoe.
In Cherry County on the 20th, a pair of GOLDEN EAGLES was seen south of Nenzel.
In Kimball County on the 22nd, 6 CASSIN'S KINGBIRDS were seen south of
I-80 Exit 1 and a CLARK'S GREBE was found at Oliver Reservoir. Also on the
22nd, 2 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES were seen in Kimball.
