Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Wednesday, Aug. 28th.

In western Nebraska on the 26th in Kimball County, a WHITE-WINGED DOVE, a
BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD, 6 RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS and a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD
were seen in Bushnell. In the Bushnell Cemetery, a CASSIN'S VIREO, 2
TOWNSEND'S WARBLERS and a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER were found. At Lodgepole
Creek west of Bushnell on the 26th, a CALLIOPE HUMMINGBIRD, a CASSIN'S
VIREO, a VIRGINIA'S WARBLER and a MACGILLIVRAY'S WARBLER were seen. At
Oliver Reservoir on the 26th, an adult HAMMOND'S FLYCATCHER was seen and on
the 25th, a NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH, a GRAY FLYCATCHER and a DUSKY FLYCATCHER
were found.

In Scotts Bluff County on the 25th at Lake Minatare, 96 WESTERN GREBES, a
MARBLED GODWIT, 10 RED-NECKED PHALAROPES, a HERRING GULL and a CASPIAN TERN
were seen. On the 28th, an OSPREY and a GOLDEN EAGLE flew over the Hawk
Watch at the Wildcat Hills Nature Center.

In eastern Nebraska in Knox County on the 26th, an immature male CALLIOPE
HUMMINGBIRD and a BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD visited the Brogies' hummingbird
garden in Creighton. On the 22nd in Niobrara, 2 EURASIAN COLLARED-DOVES
were seen at Spruce and Juniper Streets.

In Sarpy County in Bellevue on the 27th, 2 OLIVE-SIDED FLYCATCHERS were
seen in Dowding Park, east of Bellevue East High School. Also on the
27th, 2 PILEATED WOODPECKERS were seen in Fontenelle Forest south of the
Wetlands Center.

In Lancaster County on the 25th at Branched Oak Lake, 20 AMERICAN WHITE
PELICANS, 2 GREAT EGRETS, a BLACK-BELLIED PLOVER, and 2 CASPIAN TERNS were found.
