Welcome to an update of the Nebraska Birdline, sponsored by the Audubon
Society of Omaha, for Tuesday, Sept. 17th.

In western Nebraska on the 15th in the Wildcat Hills, a SAY'S PHOEBE and a
MOUNTAIN BLUEBIRD were seen in Banner County, and several RED-BREASTED
NUTHATCHES and a TOWNSEND'S SOLITAIRE were found in Scotts Bluff County.
In Scotts Bluff County on the 15th, 2 CASSIN'S KINGBIRDS, 2 SAY'S
PHOEBES, 17 ROCK WRENS, 3 NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRDS, an ORANGE-CROWNED
WARBLER and a WESTERN TANAGER were seen in Carter Canyon. Also on the
15th, a BROAD-TAILED HUMMINGBIRD was seen in a yard in Mitchell.

In central Nebraska on the 15th in Sherman County, an OSPREY, an
ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER, a NASHVILLE WARBLER and a WILSON'S WARBLER were
seen at Bowman Lake State Recreation Area. At Sherman Reservoir on the
15th, 2 HORNED GREBES, 1000 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS and an OSPREY were
found.

In eastern Nebraska in Douglas and Washington County on the 15th, 2
BLUE-HEADED VIREOS, 3 RUBY- CROWNED KINGLETS, 3 SWAINSON'S THRUSHES, 2
BLACK-and-WHITE WARBLERS, a TENNESSEE WARBLER and a NASHVILLE WARBLER were
found at Neale Woods, Boyer Chute and Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In Sarpy County on the 12th, a NASHVILLE WARBLER, a WILSON'S WARBLER and a
SCARLET TANAGER were seen in a yard south of Bellevue University. Also
on the 12th in Bellevue, a BAY- BREASTED WARBLER was seen in the Birdline
backyard.

In Lancaster County on the 15th at Branched Oak Lake, an OSPREY, 2
AMERICAN AVOCETS, a RUBY- CROWNED KINGLET, a NASHVILLE WARBLER and an
OVENBIRD were seen.

In Iowa on the 14th , a BAY-BREASTED WARBLER, a BLACK-THROATED GREEN
WARBLER, 2 SUMMER TANAGERS and 2 SCARLET TANAGERS were seen at Waubonsie
State Park in Fremont County. Also on the 14th south of Council Bluffs,
3 CASPIAN TERNS were found at the MidAmerican pond.
